A new improved version of the firmware for the
dBadge has been released to further assist customers who are using the
new micro noise dosimeter. The new instrument firmware, now at version 1.07, adds
the ability to have a standard CEL-350 (or 350IS)
dBadge calculate both the A
and the C frequency weighted noise levels. The extra information is measured
and downloaded to dB35 software at version 2.04 or above. This allows for
the correct assessment of the workplace noise levels for selection of the
most suitable hearing protectors. The calculations allow the NRR or HML
methods to be used that are not based on the normal octave band analysis of
the noise.
This is a special price option that is not normally available in a
standard CEL-350 dosimeter but must be purchased separately. CEL-350
dosimeters with the C-A calculation are designated the CEL-352 units and can
be either the regular or the IS version at firmware 1.07 or higher.
All
dBadges returned to
Casella USA for annual recalibration will be automatically upgraded to the
latest version of firmware at the same level as received (unless the upgrade
to add the C-A calculation is ordered at the same time) and a new installation CD will be provided to go with
the kit of dosimeters. Otherwise, customers can download the small update
file here and carry out the firmware upgrade themselves. The process only
takes a couple of minutes per
dBadge
and uses the 193200B (or CMC39) IR adaptor to upload the new program into the instrument.
A help file is included, PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE HELP FILE BEFORE
STARTING THE UPGRADE!!
Click here to download the zipped
file to upgrade your own dBadges
too. Save the file in a temp folder on your hard drive then unzip the 3
files and follow the instructions given in the text file UPGHELP.TXT.
Read the Upgrade HELP file here
first before proceeding. All stored run data MUST be downloaded to dB35
BEFORE starting the upgrade as the memory will be lost after the upgrade has
taken place.
Please contact the Casella USA sales office for details of the cost of
the C-A upgrade to your dosimeters.
