With the recent introduction in February 2007 of the new operating system from Microsoft we have been getting inquiries regarding the use of dB35 on laptops with the Vista edition Operating System.

At the moment it is not possible to use the existing dB35 version 1.x program on a desktop or laptop that is running the Windows Vista operating system. You must continue to use the fully tested XP Professional or Home or Media editions to use the full features of dB35.

We will be releasing an update to both the MS SQL server engine and to dB35 to enable the database software to run under the Vista system. The existing Microsoft database engine that we are currently using does not run on Vista either so we will have to upgrade to the more recent version of that at the same time. This will then need to be fully tested and released for general usage to our customers. A notice will be made in this What's New section of the dBadge website so make sure to check back regularly to see when it becomes available.
