A new version of the firmware for the
dBadge has been released to further improve the use of the
new noise dosimeter.The new firmware version 1.05 adds a new parameter to
the displayed set of results shown on the screen of the
dBadge at the end of measurements. The new parameter is
the 8 hour projected noise dose based on the actual noise dose % collected
during the run. For example, if the had been running for a sample
period of 2 hours (120 minutes) and accumulated an actual noise dose of 37%
then the 8 hour projected dose would be shown as 480/120 x 37% or 148%.
This new benefit allows for shorter measurements to be made when the
noise exposure is pretty consistent all through the workday. If the
projected dose is known then the TWA can be calculated easily from the
following relationship.
TWA = 16.61 x log (8hr proj dose%/100%) + 90 dB
In the example above the TWA will be 92.6 dB.
Just to round off the upgrade the new version 1.05 for the
dBadge also adds the capability of selecting the display screen menus
in Portuguese language in addition to English, Spanish, French, Italian and
German.
